What exactly is a Green’Up socket?

Developed and patented by Legrand, the Green’Up is a reinforced domestic socket. While it looks like a standard socket, it benefits from major technical improvements:

●      Its contacts are thicker to withstand intense and prolonged current flow without weakening.

●      It receives a specific surface treatment, usually silver-based, which increases conductivity and prevents overheating.

Why avoid charging on a standard domestic socket?

While it is technically possible to plug a vehicle into a classic wall socket, this is not a recommended solution for daily use.

●      A standard socket is not designed to deliver its maximum power for 10 to 15 hours straight.

●      Repeated heat can degrade plastics and, in extreme cases, cause a fire.

●      Classic sockets often share their circuit with other devices, creating weak points. The Green’Up, installed on an independent circuit, eliminates these dangers.

Performance: does it really charge faster?

Yes, the difference is significant. Where a standard socket limits charging to 10A (2.3 kW) for safety reasons, the Green’Up allows up to 16A (3.7 kW).
